Overview
The Bijupira and Salema fields are located in 600–800 metres of water in the Brazilian Campos Basin. Initial progress on this Enterprise, and subsequently Shell, operated FPSO development project was reported in an earlier SUT evening meeting. This meeting covered the events leading to first oil, including the worldwide manufacture of equipment, the offshore installation and commissioning phase and the benefits, tribulations and lessons learned in working on the first (and currently only) oil field to be developed in Brazil by a foreign operator.
