West Delta Deep—An Update on the Egyptian Gas Fields
David Blacoe, Senior Project Manager, INTEC Engineering
The Scarab/Saffron gas fields have been producing for over three year from 600–800 metres of water in the Mediterranean. Last year the Simian/Sienna and Sapphire fields were added to increase production to the LNG plant on the Egyptian coast. Both these fields set records for the longest direct to beach tie-backs, with Simian being 123 km. Now engineering is in progress on the next phases of the West Delta Beep Marine Area, which promises to go further and deeper in the near future. This presentation looks at the field developments to date and also at the extensions that are being developed.
