SWIT: A New
Approach to Subsea Water Injection and Treatment for Enhanced Oil
Recovery
![]()
Jan Olav Hallset, Poseidon International Ltd
The SWIT is an all-electric water injection technology that relocates water treatment to the seabed, thus eliminating the need for surface water treatment facilities, water injection and chemical flowlines. With only an electrical cable needed for power and control, the SWIT can be used on brown-field sites where it can be interfaced to any existing Xmas tree, or on green-field sties where it can be located to both target optimal injection points to give more effective field drainage and take advantage of the lower cost option of vertical drilling.
Cost Effective Reservoir Pressure Support by Utilising Framo Subsea Seawater Injection System
Nils J Vaagen, Framo Engineering UK Ltd
Framo Engineering is fabricating the two first worldwide seawater injection system for the Columba E Field in UK Tordis Field in Norway. This presentation gave an overview of the projects and discussed why Subsea Injection Pump System was selected.
