Australian Update – Subsea Gas to LNG
Brain Woodman, FMC Technologies
Brian Woodman has returned to the UK after a five-year assignment in Perth, Western Australia, with FMC Technologies. Brian's presentation aimed to provide a high-level overview of some key subsea gas projects that are being developed in Australian waters. Particular emphasis was placed on the challenges in the region and some of the subsea technologies and equipment building blocks that are necessary for the these projects.
Offshore (floating) LNG Re-Gasification
Ingeborg Egeland, Project Manager, Hoegh LNG
Port Meridian is a deepwater LNG-receiving terminal to import natural gas to UK's west coast. The facility will consist of two submerged turret unloading and mooring buoys (STL type) for receiving natural gas from Hoegh SRVs; a 45km offshore pipeline for transportation of natural gas from the offshore terminal to Barrow in Furness; and a 5km onshore pipeline connection to the National Grid.
