See the Light

Connor Hyland, Weatherford

In-well Permanent Monitoring systems are a well understood and accepted technology within the oil and gas industry. The development and application of optical sensing systems have pushed the boundaries and capabilities of in-well monitoring to a new level. Multiple sensors and measurement types can be deployed on a single fibre optic cable. From Pressure and Temperature to Seismic monitoring, optics can offer an unrivalled range of sensing systems ideally suited for challenging environments where reliability and accuracy are paramount. This presentation looked at the systems that are currently available (from Weatherford) and the technologies behind them.
